Another successful trip to Lewes today, no not the Harvey’s shop Christmas Ale purchases but a first edition copy of Alex Webb’s ‘Under A Grudging Sun’ Photographs From Haiti Libere 1986 – 1988. Taken by Webb during the brief period after the departure of Haiti’s dictator, Jean Claude Duvalier.

From a new Still Life series I’m working on.

Last week I spent photographing stills on a set for the making of a documentary presented by actress Louisa Lytton. The story uncovers the devastating realities of rape. Richard John Taylor, director of  ‘I Don’t Want To Talk About It’ decided to create the film after experiencing the aftermath of sexual assault. The documentary, which is being produced by his company Princess Films, will tell the stories of three women as they attempt to rebuild their lives. Crime surveys have revealed that one in four women has been raped, and one in 12 will report it. Of those, one in six cases will go to trial and one in three of those will result in a prosecution.

These are some images from the filming days.
